ABC
A man named Ralph walked into work one day.
Booking meetings one after the other, he was quite bored.
Constant typing, the same old thing everyday.
Doing this was making him crazy, he needed to break out.
Even though he did not know what would come next in his life, he needed to flee.
Free from everything around him, that is what he needed to be.
Getting rid of the normal world
He left. He left his office and never wanted to look back.
Insisting on following a long lost dream of his.
Just one thing to think about, where to start.
Kicking off his shoes when he got home he started his new life.
Looking back at his past was something he will never do again.
Minding his own business is what he did best.
Never worrying about anyone other than himself.
Opening his eyes to the future.
Popping out into this new world of his.
Questioning his choice if this was the right thing to do.
Realizing it is and that he has a new life ahead of him.
Stopped in his tracks he noticed something was wrong.
Things weren't stable and he didn't know how to live like that.
Under his bed he found a book with a letter inside of it.
Visiting his grandmother she told him that the letter was a sign to follow his dreams and that everything would be okay.
With this sign he knew what he had to do.
Young and confused he did what he wanted.
Zzzzzzz... he went to sleep and woke up to realize this was all a dream.

Prompt #1 Cycle 2
POEM
You were you,
And I was I;
We were two
Before our time.
I was yours
Before I knew,
And you have always
Been mine too.
You were you,
And I was I;
We were two
Before our time.
I was yours
Before I knew,
And you have always
Been mine too.

Review - Paige's Photo Project
My friend Paige Milenkoff recently took this photo for her Art Concentration class and I absolutely love it. There were many images I could have picked from her collections but I chose this one because it reminded me of the surrealistic aspect of our dream theme. What I think is the strongest about this photo is her model choice. She used her mom and I think that was perfect because her hands look rough and kind of dry and vein-y. Paige did a great job photo shopping the mechanical parts into the dress, which also makes the photo complete. I saw the pictures before she photo shopped that in and I was confused on what she was trying to do. I think Paige did a great job on creating this piece.

Turnabout - Review
I've been to the Turnabout dance all four years I have attended HF and this year I can honestly say it was the absolute WORST. Even before the dance started there were problems that filled the air. The original group I was going with got all screwed up because a few couples dropped out and ended up not wanting to go to the dance anymore. So, that left me and two other couples trying to find a bigger group to be with. three girls from Marian Catholic were coming to our dance and they said they would join us with no problem. But last minute they decided to join another group of seniors. My friends and I asked very politely to join but they said they house they were taking pictures at was too small to fit all of, so instead, my dad went out of his way to find a country club for all 24 kids to take pictures at. That still wasn't good enough for those other girls and they decided to tell us that on Saturday morning. That kind put all of us in a shitty mood for the start of the night. Then when we got to the dance the deans were on something crazy about the dress code. They were kicking all the girls out for "inappropriate" dresses. There is a huge difference between being slutty and being classy with cutouts in a dress or the length or plunging neck-line. There are a million body shapes for women and not everyone can fit into the dress that you would like to see on them. My friend Cate had to wear her jacket because her cleavage was showing just a tad bit. She had a sheer neck-line that touched her collarbone and they had an issue with it. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! They also had a problem with the length of my dress, well I had something to say to them about that let me tell you... My dress was designer, BCBG to be exact, not something I picked up from forever21. And it was very flattering on me, but of course the school had a problem with how short it was. Let me put this into perspective, I am a 6 foot tall female with VERY long legs, I do not intend on hiding them either. They told me my dress was too short and I told them "Oh, is it really? Because I play on the varsity volleyball team and I run and dive around the floor in itty bitty spandex that barely cover my butt cheeks and this dress is too short. You've got to be kidding me?" Then I walked my ass right into that dance without anyone else saying a word to me. Another thing that was just terrible was the DJ, like really? What does the fox say? Now why would I want to dance to that... And then when they had a good song like Drunk in Love by Beyonce, they made the DJ turn it off. I guess that's what you get from going to a high school dance... Oh well, its over with, hopefully prom is better.

Time Travel
Time Travel
A boy named CJ Butler just turned 18 this past November, he was so excited to finally be able to play the lottery that he bought a lotto ticket everyday. He has not won yet but when he realized that he could use his time traveling power to his advantage he did.
CJ can travel back and forward through time as much as he want and that is his key to his success. The key to how CJ lives off of his time traveling is that he travels forward to find out the winning numbers for the lottery and then goes back in time to pick those winning numbers.
He does not do it often or else he will be found out but he does when necessary, another thing he keeps in mind is that he plays the little lottos so he can do it more often than the bigger ones. CJ has now has to figure out what he will do with all his money as he runs into obstacles along the way.

Twerk It Out to Work It Out
Miss Miley Cyrus, one of my favorite singers/people in the world. You can disagree with me all you want but that will not change my opinion about her. She is absolutely beautiful and does the crazy shit she does for a reason. It's all part of her movement, she's gotta be somewhat different. And the way she acts and dances is the exact way she wants to express herself. Last night on MTV she performed live on a segment called "Miley: Unplugged", It was absolutely terrific. I was up for hours after I watched it, on a Miley high. I kept re-watching videos of her performances, they were all so perfect to me. I know every word to every song because that is the only CD that plays in my car. The best part about it, was that she is so much better live than she is recorded. It is so real and ALIVE I am getting excited just writing this. Anyways, my favorite part of the performances was when she sang her "Aunt Dolly's" song Jolene. This affected me differently than when she sang her new songs because it shows how she still has bits and pieces of her old self inside her. She still comes from a country background and that can never be taken away from her. She threw in a few lines into the song that shows more of how she acts these days, but nonetheless she nailed it. Here's an article from Rolling Stone Magazine about her performance: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/miley-cyrus-unplugged-10-hilarious-twerkcentric-observations-20140130

Up in the Clouds
She gasped with excitement and shouted over the noise of the propeller: "The islands in the clouds are real!!". They landed the plane on the shore of the beach, but were hesitant to exit because of the rumors they heard back home. They did not know what to expect so they made sure they were prepared for anything to come their way. When the got off the plane, Renae and Patrick stayed very quiet. They looked around for people or any type of creatures they might have found. But there was nothing. They were so excited to finally see for themselves that there were actually islands in the clouds. Patrick walked toward the forest that was off of the shore, as Renae followed. After exploring for a little while, they came across a town built on the island. It was so busy and overwhelming for these two. All they saw was a bunch of tiny people moving at the speed of light. It looked like a bunch of toddlers running around, but that wasn't it. He walked up to one of the little men and asked where they were. The man answered him and said they were in a place called "Fair-Air". Patrick and Renae went to explore some more, when they went back to their plane it looked like it was vanishing into the clouds. When they walked towards it they realized the fog from the clouds wasn't normal fog. It was sticky and was sucking the plane off the island. Patrick and Renae tried their hardest to pull it back on the island but then they got sucked in too. And that's the last anyone had ever seen Patrick and Renae...

College Visit - North Central College
Last Friday I missed school and went to Naperville to visit North Central College for a second time. Now, normally once you visit a college once you have idea of if you want to go there or not. But for me, I had to make a more difficult decision based on if I want to play volleyball there or not. So, since they are recruiting me they wanted me to stay overnight with some of the girls on the volleyball team. When I arrived I met with the head and assistant coaches of the team and we talked about my schedule for the day and night. Then, Coach Anna walked me to the first class I was going to attend. The class was called "Drugs and Behaviors" it was so interesting and I enjoyed sitting in on that class. I also go to meet 3 girls from the team that took that class so it was fine. Then after that was done I walked to the next class I was taking with a freshman player. This class was just Intro to Psych. One thing about sitting in on this class was that everyone was very quiet and didn't participate in group discussions. Even though I was not part of the class and was just visiting, I answered more questions than the people actually taking the class... After that we went back to my hosts dorm room and got settled. We then went to "The Cage" to eat dinner, that is the name of one of their dinning halls. After dinner a friend of theirs took us to the mall and we just kinda walked around for a while. When we got home from the mall a few girls and guys came over to Britt and Amanda's room (my hosts). All day they talked about how we were going to go out that night and then we never ended up leaving their dorm, so to me that was pretty boring. Especially coming from a high school where my friends go out EVERY WEEKEND, no matter what. So the night itself didnt really live up to what I expected a "college experience" to be like, which changed my decision on where I want to attend school. It probably will not be at NCC.

Flappy Bird
Flappy Bird is a new game that I recently downloaded. The goal of the game is to stay alive as long as you can while flying through these green tubes that look like they were taken out of Super Mario. To make the bird fly you have to tap the screen multiple times to keep it in the air. You need make it get through the opening of the tubes to to get points. The longer you are alive, the more points you score. This game is super addicting. DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT. It is sad to say that this game might have ruined my life.
